Notice: Court Dates Postponed Due To Coronavirus

Notice: Court Dates Postponed Due To Coronavirus

by Mar 17, 2020

Please be aware that the Sonoma County criminal justice system is currently operating at a severely reduced capacity due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

As of this writing, all out-of-custody time-waived matters are postponed for 30 days. There will be no public access to county courts until at least March 31st, and that date may be pushed further out depending on any additional impact.

We are currently anticipating that some or all jury trials may be postponed, but that is not yet confirmed. Please contact your attorney for additional information if you are scheduled for an upcoming jury trial.

Out-of-custody clients are being turned away by the courts, but attorneys may appear on their behalf in all matters.

The only hearings going forward right now are in-custody arraignments and in-custody and time-not-waived preliminary hearings. If you are required to turn yourself in to jail, you must check in, but you’ll be given a new turn-in date.

As the situation both nationally and locally develops, these circumstances might change. Again, we strongly encourage anyone who is uncertain of the status of their case to contact their attorney immediately for information and updates.
